The name Goðafoss means waterfall of the gods and it is in fact godlike! It is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country, both powerful and beautiful. Goðafoss is located in the river Skjálfandafljót in north Iceland, the fourth largest river in Iceland. It falls from a height of 12 meters (39 feet) over a width of 30 meters (98 feet). We recommend exploring both the left and the right side of the waterfall.
